Research into model-based development (MBD) methods
In developing landing gear systems, we apply model-based development (MBD) to a series of design processes, including setting component requirements, checking validity, and evaluation, by creating system models and component models on a computer and running simulations.
In this research, we are examining the introduction of MBD in all aspects, including improving co-simulation technology, which links simulations previously conducted for control and structural systems, replacing 2D drawings used for information exchange with customers and suppliers with 3D drawings (3D models), effectively utilizing 3D models in a series of manufacturing processes such as machining and inspection, adopting additive manufacturing (AM) technology, adopting auto code generation (ACG) for software source code, and evaluating with a hardware-in-the-loop simulator (HILS). These MBD technologies will enable optimal system and component designs, supporting the electrification necessary for a decarbonized society and contributing to weight reduction.
