Sumitomo Precision Products Co., Ltd.(Sumitomo Precision Products) has established a mass production system for the "SiphorexTM" heat exchanger (A two-phase cooler for CPU/GPU*1) for data centers, with an annual production capacity of 30,000 units, by creating a new production line at its Amagasaki headquarters.
Upon the establishment of this mass production system, we have concurrently achieved high quality and production efficiency through automation of the production process, while maintaining strict quality and production management systems. Furthermore, to ensure stable supply, we have optimized the supply chain and equipped to swiftly respond to the diverse needs of chip manufacturers, server manufacturers, burn-in test equipment*2 manufacturers, and other relevant companies.This is positioned as the initial phase of our investment. Going forward, we aim to expand our business, with a view to further strengthening our mass production system to accommodate over 500,000 units annually.

The " SiphorexTM", heat exchanger for data centers, is a high-performance air-cooled cooler developed for AI and HPC*3 applications.To meet the heat dissipation demands of high-heat-generating CPUs and GPUs, it can handle high heat generation of up to 1000W for AI servers and 4000W for burn-in test equipment, all without the need for water. This product is a new, compact, and higher-performance model based on our design and production technology called "A two-phase cooler*4" that has been used for over 30 years in railway vehicles such as Shinkansen (bullet train) and other railway vehicles with a flawless record of no failures or malfunctions. It can also be designed in optimal sizes and shapes to suit a wide variety of servers. Being an air-cooled solution, its initial cost (CAPEX) is only one-fifth to one-tenth of that required for water-cooled systems. Moreover, it achieves maintenance-free operation, long life, and high reliability. Through energy saving and reduced environmental impact, it contributes to the realization of a sustainable society.

We will continue to pursue technological innovation and quality improvement for " SiphorexTM," aiming to further enhance efficiency while utilizing the mainstream aircooled equipment in data centers. We will strengthen our system to further expand the market and respond to the diverse needs of our customers.

*1 CPU (Central Processing Unit) Often referred to as the "brain" of the computer, it is the main component that interprets program instructions and performs calculations and control.
GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) A component mainly used for fast rendering and processing of images and videos, but in recent years it has also been utilized for large-scale data processing and parallel computing in AI and HPC fields.

*2 Burn-in test equipment Devices that operate semiconductors and electronic components under harsh conditions such as high temperature and high load for a certain period of time to detect initial defects and potential failures early.

*3 HPC (High Performance Computing) An abbreviation for computer technology and systems that perform large-scale data processing and complex calculations at high speed.

*4 A two-phase cooler A technology that efficiently transfers heat by utilizing the latent heat when the cooling medium changes from liquid to gas.
